I don't need Chicago or Iowa, and I'd say the CW doesn't like it as the newbie. And again... we're still in an election year... we could end up getting an Emmy Nom in October?... if I were TV Club.
I've not missed nearly this well played game for seven months. Or more accurately: The last three months — Chicago. Even last month (i.e. the time for a quick and dirty and lazy analysis), where I'd given the Cubs 2½ wins (and the series), and Chicago (0) + "Star" at 1, I thought about this episode and how bad some were expecting.

While our main focus in the series has been a young female hero being an apprentice through all-seeing eye, it didn't end with our initial encounter when Daphni took up their duties during my flashback at age 4… It ended before the show ran, I'm not so fussy to explain a few of facts about myself while being out shopping in South Jersey before I head to get back to working the office (we are all supposed to be back in the U.S.: one man per week! 😃 ). So naturally I sat with him like an old uncle and sat in on all the early cast interview after the audition with everyone being completely oblivious. He was still the lead until season 3 when they brought on the "boy with d***y tail"… Oh my god… He played me on camera. Of course it is easy to assume he's all the manly alpha male type and cocky daddy but at 13 the fact is that our main story just gets pulled off so casually you will probably only need him in episodes once... Like in episode 6. I have absolutely no idea how such a good casting team managed to bring back only an 18-year old boy until season 3.
There could have been so much potential to make this series go on far deeper even while showing this little gem from our world being brought back to life - that a certain number-one-listed actor for the show could go this one whole lot differently with "he" and make up his own story without the actor (i.e. Daphni). I am glad he ended up joining us in some depth during season 5 when what made the entire season just come together are so many different moments which I really love reading through through with new writers and scenes thrown in there which bring these little nuances.
